Dr. Burns Congratulations on your completion of this Certification. During your candidacy for Superintendent of Schools my support for you was predicated on your classroom experience, education, and voices of educators that had knowledge of your body of work in the field of education. Thank you, I made the right choice for our children of Nassau County.
As I voiced during the election process. The lack of requirements in the Nassau County political process to elect a Superintendent of Schools has no basis of reality. The only two requirements to run for the most important elective office in Nassau County is #1 live in Nassau County and #2 be a registered voter. seriously.?? The citizens of Nassau must have a conversation about this prior to the next election. Should this office stay in the electoral process, What basic requirements does a candidate need. or like most communities through out the States, be chosen by the Nassau County School Board, from a list of candidate applications from around America. We were luck this time.
