Candidates tackle city issues

An overflow crowd inside Fernandina's city commission meeting room heard five candidates address myriad city issues Monday just weeks ahead of the Nov. 5 election.

Seat 1 candidates Bradley Bean and Joyce Tuten; Seat 2 candidate Genece Minshew participated via Zoom; Seat 3 candidates Christy Kelly and Tim Poynter and Mayor candidate Commissioner James Antun fielded questions from moderator former Mayor Robin Cocchi Lentz.

Seat 2 candidate Vice Mayor David Sturges dropped out of the forum claiming the Observer was biased against him.

Mayor candidate Commissioner Darron Ayscue could not attend due to a work conflict.
