Wells Fargo Group
John Anthony Diamond, 58 from Yulee

On Tuesday, January 26, 2016, a suspect entered the Wells Fargo Bank located at 463743 State Road 200 in Yulee at approximately 3:45 pm and approached the teller counter. The suspect produced a box cutter, and what appeared to be a handgun, and placed them on the counter. The suspect then stated to the teller “this is a hold-up.” He eventually picked up the box cutter and handgun and left the bank without receiving any money.

The suspect turned out to be a bank account holder at Wells Fargo. Bank employees recognized him were able to provide NCSO deputies with the suspects name and a vehicle description that he left in. A short time after the attempted robbery, deputies observed the suspect’s vehicle outside the UPS Store located at 463688 State Road 200, and found the suspect inside the store. A replica flintlock style pistol and box cutter were located inside his vehicle.

John Anthony Diamond, 58 from Yulee, was arrested for Robbery with a Weapon and booked into the Nassau County Jail.

Just goes to show you that there is no cure for stupid. Even if it wasn’t a real gun, minimum mandatory federal sentencing for a bank robbery where a weapon is displayed/threatened is 10 years.

As someone else said, It’s three hots and a cot, which is probably more than he has at the moment. Ten years. a retirement. Good luck John.
