According to Sheriff Bill Leeper, “At approximately 5:30 pm, Tuesday January 26, 2016, an individual was observed laying near the railroad tracks off of 108 near Canterbury Drive in Hilliard.
The Nassau County Sheriff’s Office responded and found Michael Wayne Brannon, 63, from Hilliard deceased. The investigation indicated that he was struck by a train sometime earlier. The death is still under investigation to determine if any alcohol and/or drugs were involved.”
