Skeletal remains located in surf – 600 block S Fletcher

This morning at 5:10 am skeletal remains were located in the surf north of Beach Access #6 (600 Block South Fletcher Ave.) Fernandina Beach detectives responded and will begin the investigation into the identity of the remains.

The skeletal remains will be taken to the Jacksonville Medical Examiner’s office.

It is unknown at this time if the remains are of the three missing swimmers from the north Florida area in the past two weeks.
