Nassau County employees recognized

Each month, Nassau County employees with 20+ years of service are recognized for their service at a meeting of the Board of County Commissioners. This month, the following individuals were recognized:

Gary Doss (Fire Rescue) 29 years
Pete Gunnell (Fire Rescue) 26 years
Becky Diden (Solid Waste) 25 years
Jamie Deonas (Fire Rescue) 24 years; and
Melanie Liddell (Building Dept) 22 years

OTHER

Valerie Feinberg new Assistant Director for Planning and Economic Opportunity, and Robert T. Companion new County Engineer.

In other employee news, it was announced that Robert T. Companion recently accepted the position of County Engineer. Mr. Companion had been serving as Senior Transportation Engineer for Nassau County since September 2018 and had worked previously as Nassau County’s CADD Technician.

In addition, Valerie Feinberg was introduced as the new Assistant Director for Planning and Economic Opportunity, under department director Adrienne Burke.

Editor’s Note: Born in Hagerstown, Maryland, Cindy received her BA in Political Science from Dickinson College. Upon graduation, Cindy began her career on Capitol Hill working as a legislative aide and director. She later became a part of the public relations and lobbying team of the American Iron and Steel Institute and served as director of the office of state legislative affairs for the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA). Cindy was involved in economic development with the state of Maryland, and served as executive director of Leadership Washington County. As a community volunteer, Cindy participates in numerous volunteer activities serving as a member of Sunrise Rotary, and as board member of Cummer Amelia Board of Directors.
