rick DavisWhat 1964 Frank Sinatra song was “the first music ever heard on the Moon” when played on a portable cassette player by Apollo 11 Astronaut Buzz Aldrin after he stepped onto its surface in 1969?If you answered “Fly Me to the Moon,” then you won’t want to miss the Nassau County Council on Aging’s 2015 Gala on Friday, October 2. The theme of this year’s event is, as you probably guessed, “Fly Me to the Moon” and the evening promises to enchant guests with celestial surroundings at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation beginning at 6 p.m.

Guests can immortalize their evening at the Paper Moon Photo Booth and then enjoy a superb full-course dinner with wine. Only the Moon and the stars, and those attending the Gala, will know which of the night’s stellar entertainments will be most popular: The incomparable singing of Rick Davis and his playlist of nostalgic songs or the live and silent auctions featuring everything from jewelry to fine art, premier golfing packages to unique gift baskets.

Corporate and individual sponsorships for the Gala are still available. Ranging from the Crescent Moonlevel at $500 up to the $10,000 Sapphire Moon sponsorship – contributing to the Gala not only affords sponsors numerous promotional opportunities, but assists the NCCOA in providing home-delivered meals, home healthcare, transportation, adult day healthcare and more to Nassau County seniors.

So, mark your calendars now and join us for a memorable night of Moon magic at the Nassau County Council on Aging’s2015 Gala, Friday, October 2 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Omni Amelia IslandPlantation.
