Former Fernandina Beach City Manager Michael Czymbor was selected to lead the City of Hardeeville, South Carolina as its next city manager. Starting salary is $124,000. Czymbor begins his position August 31.

“I am delighted to have the opportunity to serve the citizens of Hardeeville as its next city manager,” says Czymbor. “I look forward to working with citizens and city staff to make the City of Hardeeville an even better place to live.”

On May 31, 2014, the Savannah News reported Hardeeville as one the fastest growing municipalities in South Carolina. The increase is attributed to residential “developments of Hilton Head Lakes, Sun City and Hearthstone Lakes.”

Czymbor served as city manager for the City of Fernandina Beach from 2006 to 2012. He was one of the longest serving city managers in recent years.

Congratulations Mike and best wishes in Hardeeville SC. A stone’s throw from Savannah and Beaufort in the Low Country sounds ideal. You give me something to look forward to on my next trip up I-95 other than watching out for the Hardeeville police at mile marker 8! LOL
Again, best wishes!

To a good, hard working City Manager in Fernandina Beach that accomplished much -best wishes and fair winds up there.

The News-Leader just won’t let their vilification of Mike go away. From reading the article on the front page above the fold one would think that Mike never did anything positive for the City in his long term as City Manager. I would have expected this under Michael Parnell but thought it would be different with Peg Davis as Editor but evidently Foy is still very much in charge with regards to content and placement. Maybe if Michael had put out his own press release like Clinch they would have printed it verbatim. Such a shame.

Dave you should use the News-Leader bird cage liner.

Dave, I so agree with you. Thought a new editor at the News Leader would make a positive difference. Foy’s continuing personal vedettas and slander of certain citizens is petty and hurtful. Now that Michael is moving on and Tim Poynter was elected commissioner despite the NL’s campaign of untruths, who will be next? Congrats Michael. I hope Hardeeville’s news media are more ethical in reporting the news.
