French classes to be offered at Book Loft

The Book Loft, located in historic downtown Fernandina Beach will be holding Conversational French Classes with instructor Cheryl Thingvold on Mondays in September and October. Specific dates for both sessions are Sep. 21, Sep. 28, Oct. 5, Oct. 12, Oct. 19, and Oct. 26.

Beginning Conversational French (Part 1) will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. and is designed for students who want to brush up on conversational skills or gain some French language survival skills for travel. This course can address the needs of absolute beginners or anyone wishing to speak French more. Participants will learn essential vocabulary, phrases, and structures through dialogues and oral practice. There will be a possibility of continuing the class for Part 2.

Intermediate Conversational French (Part 3) will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon and is designed for students who want to go beyond the basics to express opinions, discuss ideas, and talk about past and future events. Attendees will learn key vocabulary, phrases, and structures to enhance basic knowledge, based on topics of interest to participants. It is not necessary to have taken the first two parts of Conversational French, but some knowledge of French is essential.

Classes will be held “Upstairs” at The Book Loft. Preregistration and $60.00 payment by cash or check are required before registration is considered final.
