Reported shark attack at Jasmine & Fletcher Avenue

The Fernandina Observer received an unconfirmed report from a nearby resident of a possible shark attack on the beaches of Fernandina near Jasmine and South Fletcher Avenue. Police and emergency vehicles are on the scene.

It was my 12 year old son who was attacked. Bit twice, he grabbed the shark by the fin and punched it in the face to make it release him. We are at UFShans in Jacksonville.

I am so sorry this happened to your son. Please keep us updated on his healing process. May I ask what time of the day this happened and in what depth of water ? Prayers for a speedy recovery.
