Florida Public Utilities has informed the Fernandina Observer that they are working diligently to restore power to more than 11,000 customers affected by Hurricane Matthew. For updates FPU asks you to keep checking their website: www.fpuc.com.
They ask you to refrain from calling unless you are experiencing a true emergency, like a downed power line or other life threatening situation.
Their workers will remain on duty until all power is restored.
