When local actor Frank O’Donnell recommended she look at Christopher
Durang’s *Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike* as a possible production for Fernandina Little Theatre’s next season, Managing Artistic Director Kate
Hart read 4 pages and immediately requested the rights to perform the
off-beat play asap. “It fit perfectly into our season, as well as being perfect for the kind of theater FLT is known for presenting: critically-acclaimed, award-winning, not-your-run-of-the-mill productions.”

Durang is an award-winning playwright well-known for his comedies,
including *The Marriage of Bette and Boo*, *Beyond Therapy*, and *Sister
Mary Ignatious Explains It All for You*; his latest accolade is the 2013
Tony Award for Best Play for *Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike*, a comic mash-up inspired by Chekov’s *Uncle Vanya*.
