St. Peter’s Outreach Ministry repairing Caribbean church.

St. Peter’s Church has a relationship with the Diocese of the North East Caribbean and Aruba that dates back to 1985.  We have taken 16 trips to the Islands to help with rebuilding over these 30 years.  Because of this long term relationship, the Caribbean Mission Team is putting together relief supplies following the devastation from Hurricanes Irma and Maria.  We have secured a shipping container that we will fill with relief supplies.  The supplies will be shipped to Anguilla where the Bishop of that Diocese lives.  He and his people will distribute the supplies to help in the relief effort.

Monetary donations of cash or check may be brought to the church office. Please include “Caribbean Mission Relief” on the memo line of your check.  You may also make monetary donations through the St. Peter’s website.  Select the “Give Online Now” button on the homepage and follow the prompts.  Select “Plate Offering” as the fund and include “Caribbean Mission Relief” in the memo.

You may also donate specific supplies by bringing them to St. Peter’s.  Requested items are –

  • Generators (4,000 watts and up)
  • Wire and Plugs to Connect Generators
  • Extension Cords
  • 5 Gallon Gas Cans (MUST BE EMPTY)
  • Photo-voltaic Panels, Solar Panels
  • Box Fans

We all have seen the devastation that Irma and Maria have brought to many of the Caribbean islands so I can’t underscore the need for this relief effort. I was blessed to go on one of these construction mission trips a couple of years ago. Our team worked hard under hot and humid temperatures and with minimal heavy equipment for 9 days, resting only on Sunday. Most of the tools we used were ones we brought with us making sure the suitcase stayed under the 50 lb. limit. I hope you will participate in this effort supporting others.
