On Tuesday, Joe Zimmerman, candidate for Nassau County Commission, met the petition
requirements to qualify for the District 5 seat. “I am honored and extremely humbled by the number of people who responded and are willing to ‘stand with Joe.’ We have been able to obtain the required signed petitions to have my name placed on the ballot for the August 30th primary.
We have many challenges we must address in Nassau County. I believe that the most important issue facing the voters in Nassau County is deciding who will hold the line on new taxes and unnecessary spending. I am proud to have taken a public and bold stand in solidarity with the taxpayers in Nassau County,” said Zimmerman.
“Higher taxes are not an answer to the challenges that face the average working
family in Nassau County. These are tough times for too many hard working citizens
in our community. When the average citizen struggles to pay for a small car repair, or have low and empty savings accounts, every dollar matters.
I am committed to a comprehensive review of spending and will work to help identify and eliminate wasteful spending as a county commissioner. I will also work to make local government more efficient. That is the best way to protect our freedom and allow people to pursue their vision of the American Dream,” said Zimmerman.
