Nassau County Council on Aging announces new Transit Operations Chief

The Nassau County Council on Aging, Inc. (NCCOA) is pleased to welcome George McKenna as its new Chief of Operations at NassauTRANSIT. McKenna, a native of Long Island NY, has a long career in transportation logistics, including stints with UPS, DHL and Sprague Energy.

“George brings a wealth of logistics experience to NassauTRANSIT,” said Transportation Director Mike Hays. “We’re fortunate to have him at this time. Our
business is growing, our operation is expanding and our technology is in transformation.”

McKenna and his wife Mimi have owned a home in Nassau County since 2006 and moved permanently to Yulee four years ago.

NassauTRANSIT is Nassau County’s public bus system. In addition, para-transit
service is provided to qualified residents. Service is county-wide and into Jacksonville. Fares are either $1 or $2. For information, call 904.261.0700 or
