Aaron Bell, candidate for County Commission District 2, announces that he has been endorsed by the Nassau County Fire Rescue Professionals (Local 3101). This endorsement includes the backing of the International Association of Firefighters as well as the Florida Professional Firefighters.

District 2 Board of County Commission Candidate Aaron Bell (Center) is joined by representatives of Nassau County Fire Rescue Professionals (Local 3101).

Matthew Waggoner, President, states in a letter dated June 12, 2018, “[Mr. Bell’s] views and insights are impressive and [his] thoughts on moving this area into the future are what we believe to be the best chance for ultimate success.”

One of Bell’s key platform points is upgrading emergency services. He wants to make sure that we have the appropriate resources to keep the county safe. “If there are two house fires in Nassau County,” he points out, “this will absorb all the resources of our county’s fire/ rescue department. Should a medical call come in during this time, it would be handled out of Jacksonville, with the possibility of a life- threatening delay. With the expected influx of 40,000 inhabitants in our large, still-rural county in the next 10 years, how will our resource-limited and understaffed emergency services manage? People’s lives may very well be at stake.”

“I am honored by the endorsement of the Nassau County Fire Rescue Professionals,” Bell adds. “This is an example of how I plan to work with all key players of Nassau County to better prepare for the future.”
