Through this amazing workshop, using a still life as the subject matter, Ms. Carpenter will emphasize canvas preparation, usage of materials, drawing, color mixture, composition, value, intensity of color and application of pigment. Each of the three sessions will begin with a demonstration done in the alla prima technique using a limited palette (three primary colors and white). Following the demonstrations students will create their own successful paintings working from a still life.

The cost to participate is $400.  A $200 deposit is required.  To register, contact Diane Withrow at moc.loa@13worhtiw or 904-261-8536.

For several years she worked as a freelance artist accepting assignments to design and execute massive murals, interior and exterior, some measuring  thirty by ninety feet. Ms. Carpenter’s paintings have been exhibited at the Centre International
d’Art Contemporain in Paris, France, in a Salon des Nations exhibition
promoting independent American artists.

After study at the Alabama School of Fine Arts in Birmingham, Ms.
