Amelia Community Theatre presents A Midsummer Night’s Dream, one of William Shakespeare’s most popular comedies, opening June 7 on the main stage at 207 Cedar Street.

Under the light of the moon, love is in the air as a wedding is planned, a play is rehearsed in celebration, and young lovers are on the run. Mischief abounds when the king of the fairies instructs his sprite Puck to create havoc with a love potion that makes one fall in love with the first living thing he or she sees upon awakening from sleep. After much chaos, order is restored, and all ends well. What happens in the forest stays in the forest, with Puck assuring the audience that perhaps it was just a dream.

Directed by Tener Wade, ACT’s cast of twenty includes Emma Adkins, Audrey Antee, Emily Carrier, Morgan Coleman, Doug Embree, Desiree Herrera, Lisa Howard-Welch, Eliza Lyden, Haylie McCook, Steve Parrott, Mike Roberts, Eythan Robertson, Emma Sawyer, Peter Sawyer, Richard Smith, Ava Thompson, Leigh Thompson, Kathryn Tremblay, Sue Weiner, and Will Wiley.
