We were honored to have been able to participate in the Special Olympics Torch Run earlier today. Friends and members of the FBPD carried the torch from Seaside Park to the Publix at the Island Walk Shopping Center. Participants were welcomed by the Fernandina Beach High School Marching Band (great job with the music), the Fernandina Beach Fire Department and employees from Publix. The event raises funds and awareness for the Special Olympics. This year Florida law enforcement agencies are looking to raise over $100,000.00 to support the program.
