Wild Amelia has announced the schedule of topics for the nine monthly nature forums, called “Wild Nites,” for September 2018-May 2019. Wild Nites, which are free and open to the public, are held on the second Tuesday of the month at 7 pm at the Peck Center Auditorium, 516 S. 10th Street in Fernandina Beach. The series will begin with a program on “Wildflowers,” on Tuesday, September 11th; the guest speaker will be Jeff Norcini, a wildflower consultant with the Florida Department of Transportation. Jeff will talk about Coastal Wildflowers and their pollinators.

Upcoming program topics include:
Otters (October 9); Sea Turtles (November 13); Right Whales (December 11); Microplastics (January 8); St. Mary’s Riverkeeper (February 12); Marine Bioscience (March 12); Coastal Engineering and Sand Processes (April 9); and Sustainable Seafood (May 14).

Wild Amelia is an all-volunteer nonprofit with year-round programs for adults and children, with a goal of educating residents and visitors about the wildlife and wild places of the island. The programs culminate in a three-day Nature Festival on the third weekend in May. For more information about Wild Amelia, please visit wildamelia.org and Wild Amelia on Facebook.
