This seminar is designed to offer a solid foundation navigation by using GPS and the back-up skill of navigation using charts, navigation plotting tools, and dead-reckoning. with emphasis on technique and not blind reliance on electronics. It will cover other navigation aids such as Radar, electronic compasses, and depth sounders and will show how all these devices can increase your confidence in navigating a vessel.

This 12-session class will be offered on the following evenings from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Amelia Island Lighthouse, Fernandina Beach, FL, beginning on September 5.
There is a $75 course fee that includes the course book. Nautical charts will be available for training and homework. Students should bring plotting instruments (compass, parallel rule, etc.) and laptop.
