And that is exactly what Chef Matthew Kennedy and co-owner Tammy Barnes hope to do at their new restaurant, Palate Restaurant and Raw Bar.  The new restaurant hopefully will open Wednesday at 614 Centre Street where Bonito’s used to be.  The front sushi bar is now the Raw Bar and has a new look as does the décor in the main restaurant.

Raw Bar 1Palate has an exciting steak and seafood menu with a lunch and dinner menu as well as the full bar menu. There will be local seafood whenever possible menu  items such as a Palate Lunch Box, Grilled Caesar Salad, Filet Mignon, Braised Lamb Shank, Blackened Snapper and Mushroom Crusted Sea Scallops, to mention a few.  Not only that, their pastry chef will add tasty dessert creations.

Matthew grew up locally, attended culinary school at Keiser University and worked at Cypress Restaurant, also in Tallahassee. He worked as a chef at the Omni Plantation restaurants and Tammy Barnes worked at the Omni as well.
