Townies donates to Boys & Girls Club Basketball Camp

Townies Pizzeria presented a $500 check to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Nassau County Foundation, which goes towards their summer basketball camp.

Townies Pizzeria Community Ambassador Becca McClure presents Bill Gower of BGC, Akii Dean of Process Basketball, Inc., and 8 players from the 8-10 year old player group of the Boys & Girls Club of Nassau County basketball camp with a $500 ceremonial check to celebrate the “Italian street food” restaurant’s support of children and youth in the local community.

“The donation we received from Townies helps us to attract top
instructors, purchase t-shirts, trophies and other items to ensure a
memorable basketball camp for 40 youths ages 8-13,” said Bill Gower, local Boys & Girls Clubs of Nassau County leader. “This donation let’s us focus on our mission of growing and getting more kids involved in healthy learning activities.”

Founded in 2000, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Nassau County Foundation inspires and enables all young people, especially those who need them most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.

“We fully support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Nassau County Foundation’s mission to provide youth with the skills and support they need for a successful future,” said Matt Klabacka, owner of Townies Pizzeria. “Providing aid to children’s learning activities shows our youth that the community is committed to their success.”

Townies is dedicated to supporting the arts, education, sports,
environmental programs, military veterans and first responders through community giving in financial support as well as in kind donations. Townies Pizzeria is celebrating its most successful year in business since its founding, as they are in the top 10 percent of pizzerias in America.
