Invitation to Our May Meeting

It’s no secret that Americans tend to distrust the media — but we listen anyway.According to a recent Gallup poll, public confidence in newspapers and television is around 23%. Unfortunately, how we view the world — and make decisions impacting our financial futures — can so easily be influenced by what we are hearing. How can investors tune out the constant stream of confusing and often-conflicting information and focus on their long-term financial plans?

Please join us to learn about Creating Clarity from Confusion. Tom O’Neil of
American Funds, will lead a discussion covering some developments you might not be hearing about in the media and share a roadmap for staying focused on your long-term goals.

We will discuss the importance of diversification in today’s globalized economy and why the location of a company’s headquarters may be less relevant today in determining its business opportunities.

Tom O’Neil is a wholesaler at American Funds, part of Capital Group, covering northern Florida and southern Georgia. Tom has 23 years of securities industry experience and has been with Capital Group for 13 years. Prior to joining Capital, Tom was a Regional Vice President with Transamerica Capital, Inc. in Tampa, FL. Tom has a bachelor’s degree from Stonehill College in North Easton, MA. He resides in Ponte Vedra, FL with his wife and children.

This month’s meeting is sponsored by EdwardJones Investments and Brian Henning has kindly arranged for Mr. O’Neil to be our guest speaker.

Come join us for this exciting EABC meeting Tuesday, May 12 at the Amelia River GolfClub (4477 Buccaneer Trail – Amelia Island, FL 32034) at 6 pm.

The EABC usually meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the Amelia River Golf Club. We have to charge $12 admission so we can pay the bills. But the food is included in the cost and is prepared by the club’s chef. There is a cash bar serving some of the best wines and liquor and beers. Coffee, tea and soft drinks are also available.

Note: Beginning with the April meeting we now offer an optional yearly payment plan for the meeting fee. A payment of $100 will cover you for the next twelve regular meetings, providing a discount on the meeting fee and eliminating the need to pay at each event.

Everyone is invited to our meetings so bring your friends and guest for this fun filled evening of excitement, fellowship and yes, even gain some valuable business connections at the same time.

We look forward to seeing you at the Club! We really do have some great meetings!
