Upon entering Yulee Elementary’s Enchanted Forest Library, it is clear why the students love to spend time there and read.  From the 13 foot dragon that hangs from the ceiling to the sparkling forest of trees that now fill the library, there is magic and positivity everywhere you look.  The creation of this library is a love story; the love that a community has for its children.

The idea for the Library Beautification Project began when the new librarian, Ms. Chandra Solis, got an idea and ran with it.  Much planning and brainstorming occurred, then the work began.  According to Ms. Solis, “I knew I wanted to create an atmosphere that would inspire children to want to come to the library and stay a while to read, but wasn’t sure how I was going to do it.

Magical and uplifting;  a haven for reading;  just a few words that describe the Enchanted Forest Library at Yulee Elementary School, but don’t take our word for it, go see it for yourself.  Over the library door is the message “We love visitors, please come back soon.”  That statement couldn’t be any truer and thankfully the library buzzes with eager little visitors all day long.

Yulee Elementary’s library is, indeed, a magical and uplifting place! You really have to visit in person to get a full sense of its creative and student-appealing atmosphere. Nassau County School District is fortunate to have teachers like Ms. Solis, as well as a community that is so willing to contribute to teachers’ above-and-beyond efforts to enhance student learning!
