The Amelia Island Genealogical Society will hold its regular monthly meeting at 7:00 PM
on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at the Community Room of the Fernandina Beach Public Library, 25 N 4th St. Our speaker will be , a descendant of numerous Puritan families of the 17th century. These families were caught up in an atmosphere of increasing fear in their communities during the epoch of Puritan life we now label “The Salem Witch Trials.” Dennis will present the genealogy of one such family, the Dane’s. Francis Dane, a Reverend from neighboring Beverly, could claim relation to no less than 20 accused witches and warlocks. We’ll explore those familial connections, the stories of the family members who suffered through the trials, and take a fascinating night-time broom ride over Salem in 1692.
