This is always a good time for me to reflect on my life and give thanks for the good things that have come my way. I am thankful for my family, now much closer as they live in Orlando. I am thankful for my friends, both old and new. I am thankful for the two cats who share my house and generally gladden my life.

I am thankful for the physical beauty of this place, the beach, the sky, the flowers, and the sunshine. I am thankful that I can go and visit snow and not have to deal with it. That I left my windshield scraper in Maryland.

I am thankful for the hundreds of volunteers who keep our arts and culture organizations running smoothly. I’m thankful for the many arts and culture venues that I can enjoy.

I am thankful for the Observer, which gives me a chance to write and thankful to those of you out there who have read and commented on my observations.

Happy Thanksgiving to all our readers.
