Robert Olen Butler

Robert Olen Butler is the author of 17 novels, including A Good Scent from a Strange Mountain, a collection of stories reflecting his service in the Vietnam War that won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1993. Almost twenty years and eight books later, he penned his first literary/historical/espionage/thriller, introducing Christopher Marlowe “Kit” Cobb, a Chicago newspaper correspondent who doubles as an American spy.

The fifth and latest escapade for Kit Cobb is Paris in the Dark, as he tracks a German saboteur through the streets of the Great War-dimmed City of Lights and investigates a series of seemingly random bombings in the fall of 1915.

Butler will reflect on his writing career, talk about creative writing, and tell you more about Kit Cobb’s adventures at 5 pm on Saturday, November 24th, as part of Story & Song’s celebration of Small Business Saturday. There is no cost to attend, but reservations are necessary as seating is limited. To RSVP or for more information, call 601-2118.
