12 Days of Christmas on Amelia Island

 

On the first day of Christmas Amelia gave to me,

An eagle in a pine tree

On the second day of Christmas Amelia gave to me,

Two turtle nests and an eagle in a pine tree

🎄

On the third day of Christmas Amelia gave to me,

Three cardinals, two turtle nests and an eagle in a pine tree.

🎄

On the fourth day of Christmas Amelia gave to me,

Four croaking frogs, three cardinals, two turtle nests and an eagle in a pine tree

🎄

On the fifth day of Christmas Amelia gave to me,

Five live oak trees,
Four croaking frogs, three cardinals, two turtle nests and an eagle in a pine tree.

🎄

On the sixth day of Christmas, Amelia gave to me,

Six gators hiding,
Five live oak trees,
Four croaking frogs, three cardinals, two turtle nests and an eagle in a pine tree.

On the seventh day of Christmas, Amelia gave to me,

Seven egrets fishing, six gators hiding,
Five live oak trees,
Four croaking frogs, three cardinals, two turtle nests and an eagle in a pine tree.

On the eight day of Christmas, Amelia gave to me,

Eight deer a’running, seven egrets fishing, six gators hiding,
Five live oak trees,
Four croaking frogs, three cardinals, two turtle nests and an eagle in a pine tree.

On the ninth day of Christmas, Amelia gave to me,

Nine lizards basking, eight deer a’running, seven egrets fishing, six gators hiding,
Five live oak trees,
Four croaking frogs, three cardinals, two turtle nests and an eagle in a pine tree.

On the tenth day of Christmas, Amelia gave to me,

Ten dolphins leaping, nine lizards basking, eight deer a’running, seven egrets fishing, six gators hiding,
Five live oak trees,
Four croaking frogs, three cardinals, two turtle nests and an eagle in a pine tree.

On the eleventh day of Christmas, Amelia gave to me,

Eleven sunsets shining, ten dolphins leaping, nine lizards basking, eight deer a’running,
Seven egrets fishing, six gators hiding,
Five live oak trees,
Four croaking frogs, three cardinals, two turtle nests and an eagle in a pine tree.

On the twelfth day of Christmas, Amelia gave to me,

Twelve shrimpers shrimping, eleven sunsets shining, ten dolphins leaping,
Nine lizards basking, eight deer a’running, seven egrets fishing, six gators hiding,
Five live oak trees,
Four croaking frogs, three cardinals, two turtle nests and an eagle in a pine tree.

A good New Year’s resolution would be to double down on efforts to conserve as much wildlands as we can, on our island, in our county, in our state.
