The late OHPA Commissioner Ron Braddock

On October 2, 2017, Ronald Dean Braddock, who had served as District 5 Commissioner for the Nassau Ocean Highway and Port Authority for 17 years, passed away at the age of 69 in Callahan. Braddock’s attendance at OHPA meetings over recent years has been sporadic due to health issues.

OHPA Chairman Adam Salzburg said, “Commissioner Braddock was a long-standing pillar of moral character in our community who served the citizens of Nassau County selflessly as commissioner since 2001. He will be missed by us all. Our deepest sympathies and loving prayers are for Mrs. Lissa and the rest of the Braddock family.

“The Port Authority will appoint his replacement who will serve until the next election which will be held next year. No timetable has been set to fill the position, but we will begin the discussion at our next meeting. At this time we are just praying for comfort for the Braddock family and all who cared for him.”

The next OHPA meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at 6:00 PM., in the County Commission Chambers, James Page Governmental Complex, Nassau Place, Yulee, FL.

Ronnie Braddock was a great man. I will always cherish the time we spent together on the campaign as he sought his election to the Port and his subsequent re-election. No one would work harder than Ronnie to get things done for the working families of Nassau County. Thank you Ronnie Braddock!
