NCCOA Life Center Theater presents its inaugural production, Every Last Dime, at The Life Center, 1901 Island Walk Way, Fernandina Beach, Saturday, Jan. 26 at 3 p.m.

The play, by local playwright Jane McAdams, will be directed by Jan Cote-Merow. Based on a true story, the play takes place in South Florida in 1980. Senior Addie Gaites, a recent widow, believes she’s exhausted her energy, her enjoyment in life and every last dime. But her zest is restored when Addie and her younger neighbor investigate the many jars of coins stashed in the closet. Silver linings can be found in the strangest places…

The cast includes Buffy Wells as Addie; Pam Veitch as Sally; Denise Herstam as Shirlee and the waitress; Jeff Goldberg as the postman and Grolitzer; Jeff McDowell as Harrison Brother #1; and Don Harley as Harrison Brother #2 and Mr. Ulmer.

The production also includes performances by the Royal Academy Fusion Dancers, songs by local favorite Nanette Autry and dramatic readings on the value of friendship in the aftermath of loss. Horizons will provide intermission refreshments, including chicken and pineapple brochettes, lobster and lemongrass potstickers, cheeseboard and crudité, fruit tray, iced tea and coffee. Attendees receive a 20% off coupon good for any Horizons meal purchase (offer expires after Feb. 9, 2019).

Tickets are $15 for Life Center members; $20 for nonmembers. To purchase tickets go to www.nassaucountycouncilonaging.org/events/ or call 904-261-0701. Proceeds benefit NCCOA programs and services for Nassau County seniors.
