AMELIA ISLAND, Fla. (Jan. 24, 2019) – At the 62nd Annual Adrian Awards Gala in New York this week, the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) honored the Amelia Island Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) with multiple Silver and Gold Awards in what is the world’s largest and most prestigious travel marketing competition.

Additionally, Charles “Gil” Langley, President and CEO of the CVB, was recognized as one of the “HSMAI Top 25: Extraordinary Minds in Hospitality Sales, Marketing, Revenue Optimization” for 2018, a list that recognizes the “best of the best” in the hospitality, travel and tourism industries.

“It is an honor to have our marketing efforts recognized once again by this distinguished organization,” said Gil Langley, President and CEO of the Amelia Island CVB. “Despite the many challenges and changes in the hospitality industry, our marketing team continues to generate tremendous results, working with our local partners toward sustainable tourism.”

At this year’s ceremony, the CVB received awards for its “Amelia Island, Ever So Slightly” campaign in the categories of Advertising/Print Media (Gold) and Digital Marketing/Web Ad (Silver). Other winning entries included “Provence on Amelia” (Digital Marketing/Video, Gold); Pétanque Amelia Island Open (PR/Special Event, Gold); “Elvis in Germany” (Advertising/Tradeshow Marketing, Silver); and “Dickens Event in London” (PR/Marketing Program, Silver). The creative work was the collaborative effort of several CVB partner agencies, including Paradise Advertising (“Amelia Island, Ever So Slightly”), ICY Pictures/Chris Yarborough (“Provence on Amelia”), Square Rock Group (“Elvis in Germany”) and Cellet Marketing and Public Relations (“Dickens Event in London”).

HSMAI paid tribute to the Amelia Island CVB and other winners during the annual HSMAI Adrian Awards Gala, a black-tie affair attended by more than 800 hospitality, travel and tourism marketing executives at the New York Marriott Marquis on Jan. 22, which honors excellence in travel advertising, digital marketing and public relations.

In addition to commending the Amelia Island CVB’s award-winning work, the Gala and dinner reception honored lifetime achievement in travel/hospitality marketing, as well as Langley and the other 2018 “Top 25” recipients.

“The ‘Top 25’ is our annual hot list that celebrates the sales, marketing and revenue management leaders and innovators in our industry,” said Robert A. Gilbert, CHME, CHBA, President and CEO of HSMAI. “The creative strategies, passionate dedication and sharp intelligence of these professionals have not only grown the business within their organizations but have also truly raised the bar for the hospitality industry as a whole.”

All winning entries will be accessible in the Adrian Awards Winners Gallery online following the gala at www.AdrianAwards.com. Visit the site for more information on the event and competition.
