Tim Fillmon of Webster, Florida, once did a Florida state study to catalogue all of the state’s historical markers.  Now, he is in the business of fixing and refurbishing existing markers.

The Duncan Lamont Clinch Historical Society reached out to Fillman for help. Not only was the Fairbanks’ marker in need of painting, but to complicate matters, the base support was failing.  The marker was placed by the Duncan Lamont Clinch Historical Society in 1964.

Nice job Tim Fillmon!

Also of note is the incorrect spelling of Sewanee. There is only one “n”.

The marker looks nice, but someone should correct the spelling of the town in Tennessee where the University of the South is located: SEWANEE not Sewannee.
