Friends of the Library back in book sale business – Donations needed

The Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale will be held November 14-15-16 at the Peck Gym, 510 S. 10th St, Fernandina Beach. Fiction and non-fiction books, in hardback, paperback and trade formats will be on sale as well as CDs, vinyl records, DVDs, audio-books, children’s books, cookbooks, and puzzles all sorted into categories that make it easy to find favorite authors and subjects. Most are priced $3 or less. The book sale opens Thursday, November 14, 5pm-7pm for FOL members only who will have the first choice to purchase from thousands of book sale items. Memberships and renewals can be purchased at the door or by going on-line to fernandinafol.org. Memberships are $15 for students, $35 for individuals, $50 for a couple and $75 for a family.

The Book Sale is open to the public on Friday, November 15 at 9:30am until 6pm and on Saturday, November 16 at 9:30 am until 2pm. Book lovers are asked to bring their own sturdy bags or carts for their purchases and although credit cards are accepted, cash is always appreciated.

Donations of gently used books CDs, DVDs, audio-books and piece-complete puzzles are now being accepted. Donors can bring these items to the white door of the sorting room at the rear of the Peck Gym, 511 S. 11th St., at 10am (Mon through Sat) and 1:30pm (Mon through Fri). The white door is at the end of the covered walkway. Volunteers will bring a hand cart to help unload the donated books. There is also a book sale donation bin at the end of the walkway. For large donations, call Jody Mackle at 904-753-3643. Encyclopedias, Time/Life books, old text books and magazines are not accepted for donation.

100% of the proceeds from the book sale help support the purchase of materials for the Nassau County Library System.
