Jacksonville, FL – To showcase the diverse career opportunities available in the manufacturing industry, the First Coast Manufacturers Association is joining forces with JAXUSA Partnership and CareerSource Northeast Florida to engage, inspire and encourage youth to become the next generation of manufacturers through Manufacturing Day, or MFG Day, an initiative spread throughout the month of October.

“The next frontier of manufacturing in the United States is upon us, and now, more than ever, we need the next generation of creators to join our workforce. More than 25 of our local manufacturers are working alongside schools in our region to showcase what modern manufacturing really looks like,” said FCMA President Lake Ray.

First Coast Manufacturers Association is providing support for the region’s largest celebration of manufacturing, where manufacturers open their doors for students and teachers, highlighting the diverse career opportunities in manufacturing for Florida’s next generation. Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, Putnam and St. Johns counties all have participating schools and manufacturing partners.

Participating manufacturers include: BAE Systems, Carlisle Interconnect Technologies, Collins Aerospace, Commercial Metals Company, Dupuy, Flat Glass Distributors, Fleet Readiness Center, Flightstar, Florida Machine Works, Grace Aerospace, IFF, JZ Logistics, Kaman, Medtronic, Miller Electric, Q-Pac, Rayonier, Rulon International, S&P, Saft, Sally Corp., SolarStik, Symrise, US Gypsum, Vac-Con, Veritas Steel and WestRock.

“We are always looking to attract, train and retain great talent on Florida’s First Coast and are proud to push initiatives like Manufacturing Day to bring awareness to the high-demand, good-paying careers in manufacturing,” said Ray. “We are preparing for the future by engaging with the workforce of tomorrow today.”

MFG Day gives manufacturers the opportunity to address the skills gap, connect with future generations, update the public perception of manufacturing and ensure the ongoing prosperity of the industry. Learn more about MFG Day and how to participate in Florida’s events at www.mfgday.com.
