On Friday, March 9, 2018 at 1:51 P.M., the Fernandina Beach Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a house fire at 324 South 10th Street.
Units on scene within three minutes observed a single family dwelling, fully-involved. Firefighters set up a defensive, exterior attack on the fire. With assistance provided by Nassau County Fire-Rescue 3101, it took firefighters approximately two hours to knock down the flames, complete overhaul, and extinguish all hot spots.
The structure was a total loss. The American Red Cross was notified and met with homeowners on scene to offer assistance. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries reported as a result of this fire. After initial investigation, the cause of the fire was determined to be accidental in nature.
Glad to hear none of the occupants were injured. Best wishes to the Willocks for rebuilding.
