Tough TimesOn Saturday June 6th the Amelia Island Museum of History’s fund raising historical drama TOUGH TIMES – STRONG WOMEN was finally shown at the museum. The gala event was originally scheduled on April 18th at Tiger Point Marina. On that occasion guests had just finished a convivial social time with good food from Lulu’s when a tremendous storm blew in dousing the guests with waves of rain and knocking out all the power on the island. Fortunately during that TOUGH TIME guest were very good humored and entertained by the unusual happening!

Last Saturday showed the strength and great talent of SIX STRONG WOMEN from modern Fernandina. After a two month break they performed magnificently to a full house. Many, many thanks to Lisa Gale – Mary Mattair; Jayne Nasrallah – Maria Fernandez; Bobbie Morgan Jones – Flora Clarke; Jan Cote Morrow – Isabel Bunnel; Thea Seagraves – Felipe the witch; and Arlene Filkoff – Matilda Seton. Thanks also to the costume department at the museum who had the invaluable help of Susan Martin.

If you like to watch costumed historical drama you could stop by the museum, make a donation to their costume department, and receive a signed commemorative poster of the event(s). Also consider becoming a sustaining member of the museum and receive regular updates about upcoming events.

Would love it if this production was performed again. It sold out very fast. I was on the waiting list but unfortunately didn’t have the pleasure of seeing it. Like Steve said Encore Please! People who did go are raving about this performance.
