On Saturday, October 13, the public will have the opportunity to view the new Fernandina Beach Municipal Airport Terminal. The official dedication and open house will be a family friendly event, featuring live music, sky diving, hamburgers and hotdogs, free plane rides.
What a colossal waste of taxpayer dollars! No marina, no waterfront park, but now we’ve got an airport and extravagant terminal that should be owned and paid for by the County — not the City. Who, after all, uses this airport — City residents or County residents and businesses? As far as I’m concerned, a total embarrassment. And no accountability.
What about all of the “free” state and federal tax dollars? Oh, wait – WE pay those taxes too. You think this is bad? The City is just dying to throw millions of dollars at the old Post Office project.
This building used no tax dollars whatsoever, if only people in this town could stop complaining and worry about themselves. The grand opening was beautiful.
Keep whining and sharing false information, gentlemen. For people who keep saying they live in paradise, there sure is a lot of hate going around. Beautiful building, good accommodations for pilots, great observation decks for families and those of us who like aviation. Thank you, Bent Wing!
I liked the airplane design. Hopefully the naysayers will change their thoughts.
