Meet Elfie, the second Nassau Humane Society (NHS) dog to be showcased at a Fernandina Beach City Commission meeting.  She is friendly and ready to be adopted.

According to the Humane Society:

This beautiful, happy sweetheart is Elfie! She’s about 2 years old and medium-sized at about 40 pounds. She’s a mixed-breed girl who came to us from an overcrowded facility where she was almost out of time, so she’s a true rescue dog. She loves people and could make a great exercise partner. She walks well on her leash, as you can see on her video — and if you like a brisk pace, she can keep up with you. So, she’s a friend who can keep you fit! She’d also be very happy giving and getting lots of affection — she loves to cuddle. And she’s gorgeous, with a white and tan coat that includes lots of brown freckles. Please watch her video, then come meet Elfie — we know she’ll greet you with a smile!

To see more information about Elfie or  to watch her video,  visit the NHS website, where you can also see photos of other dogs (and cats) looking for caring new owners.  Better yet, visit their facility on Airport Road where you may find yourself a new, 4-legged friend who will enrich your life.

Be advised that puppies are also available!

I am sorry I do not get this. Maybe I am just misunderstanding. Why are we showcasing dogs at our city commission meetings?
