Clear skies and high temperatures in the lower 60’s are predicted for election day when voters journey to the polls to select the next Fernandina Beach City Commissioner. Since neither candidate Charlie Corbett or Timothy Poynter received a majority of votes in the November election, a runoff election is taking place.
Polls are opened from 7 am to 7 pm at the Atlantic Avenue Recreation Center – Precinct 101, Martin Luther King Center – Precinct 102, and the First Baptist Church on South 8th Street – Precinct 201.
The Fernandina Observer will have election night results shortly after 7:00 p.m. The initial vote totals will show the results of mail in ballots and ballots cast prior to election day at the Nassau County Supervisor of Election’s Office.
As of the end of the day December 8, 1,131 mail-in ballots have been received.
Just a reminder. The Fernandina Maritime exchange meeting at 1:30 til 3:00 at The Page Govt. Complex today. Val Schwec will give the State of the Port report. Retired Lt. Comdr. Robt. Butts LNG liaison ? will tell us” all we need to now about LNG” at our Port. Vote then see you at the Page Complex.
