Georgia Murray presents check to now retired John Martin (Veterans’ Services Officer).  Cara Curtin stands between Judge Poole and John Martin. She is the chair of the Princess Amelia Chapter’s Service for Veterans Committee and serves with John Martin on the Veterans Council of Nassau County.

The Princess Amelia Chapter Colonial Dames XVII Century presented a check at its quarterly meeting to the Veterans’ Treatment Court. On the far left, Chapter President Georgia Murray hands a check to John Martin, Nassau County Veterans’ Service Officer (now retired.) Judge Wesley Poole, second from left, was the guest speaker. Judge Poole presides over the Veterans Treatment Court, which is a court-supervised treatment program designed to provide alternative sentencing options to military veterans who are facing criminal charges.

Colonial Dames XVII Century is a national lineage-based organization of women with documented ancestors living in the country before 1701. Its primary mission is the preservation of historic sites and records, promotion of heraldry and coats of arms, support of charitable projects, and the education of the nation’s children.
