Christiania Piano Trio to perform works of Brahms and Dvorak – Feb 23

The Christiania Piano Trio, consisting of violinist David Coucheron, cellist Christopher Rex and pianist Julie Coucheron, will perform music of Brahms and Dvorak at a February 23 concert of the Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival.

This 5:00 PM concert will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 2600 Atlantic Avenue in Fernandina Beach. Tickets for this and every concert in the 2020 season are available at www.aicmf.com or 904/261-1779.

Violinist David Coucheron joined the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra as Concertmaster in 2010. He has soloed with many leading orchestras and given solo recitals at Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall and the Kennedy Center. Artistic Director of the Kon Tiki Chamber Music Festival in his hometown of Oslo, Norway, he is on the artist faculty of the Aspen Music Festival and Brevard Music Festival.

Cellist Christopher Rex is the founder and artistic and general director of the Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival. He retired as principal cellist of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in 2018 after serving in that position for 39 years.

Pianist Julie Coucheron, sister of David, has established an international career, winning major awards in Italy, Germany, the U.K. and U.S. She has performed at many of the world’s leading venues with such luminaries as Emanuel Ax, Yo-Yo Ma, and Elton John. Ms. Coucheron regularly performs at the Oslo Chamber Music Festival, Bergen International Music Festival and La Jolla Summer Fest.

Upcoming performances of the Festival’s 2020 season include violinist Pamela Frank and pianist Stephen Prutsman on March 1 and superstar violinist Itzhak Perlman on March 19.
