The Sheffield family is proud to formally announce the reopening of The Dog Star Tavern. We consider The Dog Star Tavern to be an important part of our Downtown culture and community. As the new caretakers we are excited to welcome The Dog Star Tavern Team into our business family.

We look forward to keeping this tradition alive at 10 North 2nd Street in the heart of the Fernandina Beach Downtown Live Music District.” says Wes Sheffield, CEO of Big Shef Incorporated.
Patrick and Anthony, along with their team, will remain an integral part of The Dog Star Tavern and will continue to provide excellent service and entertainment. The Dog Star Tavern has been a leader in community efforts working with the City and many non-profit organizations. This will continue with the upcoming Chili Cook Off on February 22nd, the Food Truck Rally on March 1st and the Slide into Spring – Goin Coastal Music and Craft Beer Event on March 29th at Main Beach.
The Dog Star Tavern loyalists can expect the atmosphere, vibe and smiling faces to stay the same. We will continue to provide a non-smoking environment inside, along with the outside beer garden for those who would like to enjoy a smoke. You will also enjoy live entertainment from the bands that you have come to know and love over the past few years. While in the process of obtaining our liquor license for The Dog Star Tavern we will be serving beer and wine.
C.A.P. Members will gain another exciting addition in your daily and monthly benefits and rewards. Our computers will be synchronized in the coming weeks and we will announce when these cards are operational at The Dog Star Tavern. This program will continue to be universal and you will receive benefits at The Palace Saloon, Hammerhead Beach Bar, Amelia River Golf Club and The Surf Restaurant & Bar.
The Sheffield’s come from a strong background in the restaurant and hospitality industry. With a dedicated desire to be involved in the local community and create a variety of diverse atmospheres for Fernandina residents and visitors to enjoy live performances, host events and come together for great spirits.
