L to R: Barnabas Board Chair Stephen Lee, Tania Yount, Barnabas Director of Development, Wanda Lanier, CEO and President of Barnabas Center, Rena Coughlin, Executive Director of the Nonprofit Center, Melanie Patz of Baptist Health and John Bowls, Barnabas Medical Director, pose with the Local Focus- Lasting Impact award given at a luncheon/award ceremony recently.

Barnabas Center won a regional “Collective Power” award from the Nonprofit Center of Northeast Florida at their annual awards luncheon held in late June in Jacksonville. The award recognizes Barnabas as a collaborative leader in northeast Florida in making an impact in the health of those who are uninsured. This year, the Nonprofit Center presented two awards, Collective Power and Social Innovation. Each award includes a grand prize of an agency video produced by WJCT, and a small cash prize generously provided by Florida Blue.

“Barnabas was honored to have been selected to receive this prestigious award. We have been effective in providing affordable, quality health care to uninsured adults in Nassau County because of the strong partnerships we have with many organizations, most importantly Baptist Health and Baptist Medical Center Nassau”, Wanda Lanier said during her acceptance.

Local Focus. Lasting Impact.™ is the nonprofit community’s vision and multi-year strategy to unite and strengthen the Northeast Florida nonprofit sector.

The Nonprofit Center, with critical support from The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida and the Jessie Ball duPont Fund, developed the first-ever nonprofit sector branding campaign, focusing on the economic impact and social value delivered by local nonprofits.
