Arts and Culture Nassau is proud to present the 2nd annual Community Forum, Saturday October 6th from 10-12 pm at the Peck Center. You will have an opportunity to hear exciting presentations and fun activities from more than a dozen local non-profits including hearing this year’s Arts and Culture grant recipients report on their youth centered activities.

There will be story time with the Nassau County Public Library, animated shorts from Rendezvous Film Festival and an Amelia Island Jazz Festival Presentation Jazz in the Schools program featuring AIJF Board member, saxophonist Johnnie Robinson and special guests. Many organizations will also have kid-friendly activities at their tables. It will be a fun and culture-filled family event – come out and see what the Arts in your community has to offer you!

Arts and Culture Nassau is funded by monies from the sale of arts license plates. Unlike some of the other specialty plates, if you purchase a State of the Arts specialty license, the funds are returned directly to the county for use supporting arts and culture organizations. Nassau County commissioners designated Arts and Culture Nassau as the organization to manage these funds for the benefit of all of Nassau County.

Last year Arts and Culture Nassau instituted a grant program to support nonprofit organizations in Nassau County with youth programs in the area of arts and culture. They have also continued with an updated brochure promoting nonprofit arts and culture organizations in Nassau County to both residents and visitors. The October forum is a community event for arts and culture organizations in Nassau County that allows the exchange of information among these organizations.

The forum runs from 10 am to noon on Saturday October 6, 2018 at the Peck Center auditorium, 516 South 10th Street, Fernandina Beach. The event is free and open to the public who can attend to peruse the various youth programs and the opportunities available for their children or grandchildren.
