Michael SpicerEditor’s Note: According to Michael who has a degree in Geology and Anthropology, this photo represents the “effects of beach erosion, minerals in sands that make patterns, and a mindful eye for the beauty that surrounds us.”

Michael is a veteran, a musician, world traveler, environmental fine art photographer and has worked in the energy and insurance industries. He lives in Fernandina Beach with his wife, artist and author, Carol Beck. We thank Michael for his contribution to the Fernandina Observer.

We are very fortunate to have such artist as Michael and Carol on the island. They show us the beauty we are surrounded with but are often too distracted to see.
