Patricia Taylor has been a part-timer in what she describes as the notorious “Maritime Republic of Old Town” since 2015.  She is from the Long Island’s North Shore.  Six years ago, she involuntarily retired after 32 years as an independent contractor, industrial advertising sales.

Patricia found Amelia Island when her youngest graduated from the USNA in ‘09 and was assigned to Kings Bay. Once she relocated, serendipity struck when she discovered a high school girlfriend had lived on Amelia for over 30 years.  Also, Patricia discovered Fernandina Observer writer Anne Oman, was living in Fernandina.  In 1970, Patricia sold her Washington, D.C. Capitol Hill townhouse to Anne and Ralph Oman.

Patricia said, “I was not born on Amelia, but I got here as soon as I could.”
