Editor’s Note:  On June 29, following a successful Cape Kennedy launch of a Space X Falcon 9 Rocket and a Dragon Spacecraft, Margaret Milton sent these photos to us that were taken by her husband Walter. The Miltons live between Scott Road and Peter’s Point, where Walter captured these images shortly after the early morning (5:42 a.m.)  launch.

Walter is a retired physician who purchased his first real camera a year ago (Canon EOS T6i). With the favorable weather conditions, rocket launches are thrilling to observer on Amelia Island.

According to Space X, “Dragon separated from Falcon 9’s second stage about nine minutes and thirty seconds after liftoff and is on its way to the International Space Station, currently expected to arrive early on the morning of July 2nd.” Update: Dragon has arrived!
