Editor’s Note: Since appearing on Facebook, Amy Wade’s video is getting a lot of attention and rightly so. Amy is a Fort Clinch volunteer  and has managed to capture this video showing a mother deer feeding a set of twins (Donny and Marie).  Another baby fawn joined in.  Among her friends, Amy is known as the “Deer Whisper.”

You might recall two of Amy’s  previous photos of Bambi who was easily recognized by a spot on her ear. Amy developed a close friendship with the deer allowing her to capture close shots. She was heartbroken when Bambi was recently killed by a coyote.

Amy started a small business called “Beach Junki”  to help educate individuals about the beach and the “junk washing up and polluting our paradise.”  She is often seen picking up beach litter left behind by thoughtless people.

We thank Amy for her contribution to the Fernandina Observer.
