On November 3rd join us in the bastions of FORT CLINCH from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. This fund-raising event is being held in honor of Leah Bork a much missed long-time volunteer. Tickets are on sale at Amelia Island Museum of History S. 3rd Street 10 am – 4pm $60.

Kick off the evening with a tribute to old Fernandina’s Spanish heritage. Enjoy listening and watching Spanish music and dancing with a complimentary cocktail and delicious appetizers. A cash bar will also be available.

Then by 6:30 we will be seated inside the atmospheric bastion of the Fort. Prepare yourselves to meet 10 very colorful historic characters who influenced events on this island between 1765 and 1865. These characters will put a new twist on the history of those times: the Princess disappointed in love who flaunted the mores of her time; the Slave girl who became a wealthy freed woman; her life long influential partner and Surveyor-General of East Florida; the resident Witch of the town; a lively ‘Lady’ innkeeper; the Scottish aristocrat turned Privateer; the Senator-Entrepreneur and his feisty critic the Mayor’s Widow; and the career Union Soldier and his long suffering Wife!
